We can analyse your printing environments and report on the mechanical condition of your presses, something that no other company can offer, highlighting any potential maintenance or repair requirements. We have the ability to identify exactly where a problem is coming from and can work with press engineers to resolve the problem and stabilise the press.

Expert Press calibration
We can calibrate Coldset, Heatset, Sheetfed, Digital small & Large format, Flexo and Gravure printing presses, Hard Copy Proofing Equipment & Softproofing Solutions. Our approach is tried and tested, it delvers the following benefits as defined by our clients not our marketing department
- Reduced ink and paper waste
- Faster to good copy on press
- Greatly improved quality
- Quantifiable results
The concept behind Press calibration is that we measure the current state of the “Dot Gain” on your press and compare it to a standard. We calculate the difference between the two and create a compensation curve that is added to your CTP RIP to account for and correct the differences. The result is that your press will run closer to the expected Dot Gain standard set for a particular print/paper while achieving the “colour and density” of the solids being tested in your print control strips. If your Dot Gain is too high then you will have to drop the density and reduce colour in order to get the optimal contrast results. If your Dot Gain is too low then again it may not be possible to put much more ink on a particular paper without the 3/4 tone areas filling in or the volume of ink causing both mechanical and waste issues. Press Calibration means less waste and matched proofs.
ICC profiling expertise
Do you want to create high-quality profiles simply and reliably? Or perform direct color conversions by means of DeviceLink profiles where colour conversion with ICC device profiles fails to produce the desired result? Or edit color conversions in controlled fashion? We are capable of generating print and or digital print profiles that are smooth, accurate and guaranteed to deliver the greatest quality.
Advanced Print ink savings
We have been working on “Print Ink Savings” since 2007 and installed such systems in printers all over the world. If you are looking to save ink in print then you should talk with our team to explore the best methods of achieving the greatest efficiencies and avoid sacrificing quality. We are press calibration experts and as such all of our ink saving projects include press specific profile data creation. Without this you will never realise the true potential of ink savings. We save you more than ANY other vendor while realising the highest print quality. We are always up for a challenge so if you are in doubt, we will prove it!
Spot colour management
Currently the handling of spot colours in PDF is limited to CMYK “alternative” values and of course the reliance on the printer to use a special ink to truly match the colour. This presents a big problem for Digital printers as the CMYK values in these spot channels have been calculated for one print condition and it is more than likely very different to your machine and paper combination. The ideal solution would be for PDF’s to include a “spectral” value for the desired colour and the RIP or colour management system to make the conversion from the desired colour to the reality on the press. This would deliver consistent colour across many medias and print devices from one concise instruction. Add to this the complexity of “tints” of that same special colour. The printer has a chance to match the 100% value but the 30% value will be influenced by “Dot Gain” and other process factors that may make it impossible for him or her to match both.
At MyPressXpert we have the answer to this problem. A full spot colour management system that is customisable to your brand colours. Allowing your business to communicate colour to any print platform, ensuring visual consistency. It also includes the ability to print and measure tints on your own press and apply these “calculations” to your spot channel libraries. By doing this you will be able to process files with many spot channels and tints producing results that match across sites, papers and presses
- Automatic Pantone and HKS libraries
- Minimum channel calculations with lowest DeltaE
- Multichannel spot calculation
- Tint calculation engine
Computer to plate calibration
Extremely important and often overlooked, CTP is key to consistent print quality. Working in partnership with the inventors of digitally modulated screening, we offer a service to analyse and calibrate your CTP systems. This will ensure the perfect results and set a benchmark for your regular maintenance schedules. A poor CTP result will translate directly to print, causing colour mismatch and delays. If you are not sure about your CTP systems then give us a call and let us analyse them for you.
Digital Print calibration
We have experience working with all the major Digital production RiP platforms. From EFI to GMG /Proofmaster and ColorGate, we can help our Digital print clients achieve better colour matching, ink savings and workflow efficiencies though the effective use of stock calibration techniques. If you want a more efficient and quality driven digital print environment or you would simply like to know more about the new ISO 15338 reference aim points or the ISO 15311 Digital print certification, get in touch with us today and we will help you.
ISO Proof standardisation – ISO 12647/7
MyPressXpert engineers are fully conversant with all the major proofing aim points for internationally recognised print standards and methods, from IFRA Quiz in Newspaper to, PSO_MFC in Headset to Fogra 39L including the up and coming Fogra 51 & 52 standards, referring to the Fred 15 project and the “new”
If you are looking for an accurate, easy to use proofing system or you would like to fix your existing one, give us a call today and we will help.
ISO Print standardisation – 12647-2…
MyPressXpert engineers are fully conversant with ISO 12647 mechanical standards and localised adaptations such as FOGRA/ECI European colour aim points, “new” flexographic/label print standards or IDEAlliance/G7/Gracol ones from the USA. Our understanding of the mechanics in print gives us the edge when visually matching print standards & processes. Uniquely, we help our clients characterise the papers they use in print and associate them with standards. If we find your paper doesn’t comply then we will help you profile it and give you a custom target so you can still print as close to the desired standards as possible.
